The self proclaimed leader of the Oniwa Banshu, Misao, is very cheerful, talkative, loud and has a short temper. She is very loyal to her friends.

At fifteen years old, she set out to find her adopted father, Aoshi Shinomori (and the rest of the Oniwa Banshu gang), until she ran out of traveling expenses. That is was the time when she met Kenshin who knew the fate of her comrades.
