Nothing much is really known about Nakago. All we know is that he is from the Hin Tribe in the west. His tribe was Kutou's sworn enemies (Kutou has a lot of sworn enemies). Fourteen years ago, when Nakago was only eleven years old, the country of Kutou attacked their tribe and killed everyone. Then you will see young Nakago witnessing his mother being raped or being beaten (it wasn't shown what the soldiers were doing to her but you can hear her screaming and the soldiers' cruel laughter in the background). A sudden burst of emotion must have triggered the character on his forehead to glow. Chi emanated from him and it killed five of the men who attacked them, including his mother. He must've been devastated when he realized that he accidentally killed his mother.

The soldiers who had witnessed what happened recognized the mark on his forehead. So, Nakago was presented to the Emperor of Kutou. The Emperor was surprised that Nakago was a Seiryuu Seishi. He said, "He's [Nakago] as beautiful as a girl. Yes, we'll take good care of him until the Seiryuu No Miko comes. He is too young to use his powers properly."

One of the Emperor's courtmaidens said, "You've found yourself a new plaything, Emperor." She was referring to Nakago. Then, you see a young and naked Nakago lying on his stomach on the emperor's bed. It seems that Nakago was abused by the Emperor (how sad).

What Nakago experienced in his childhood is atrocious. Children as young as he was should not go through such a horrible ordeal. No one should. When he grew up, he then said he'll wait for the Seiryuu No Miko to come. Until then, he will learn to use his powers properly in order to "destroy the heaven that has given him so much pain".

It's no wonder why he turned out the way he is or why he killed that perverted Emperor in the later episode. If you ask me, that Emperor deserves it.
