Let me just talk a little bit about a couple of issues... I saw in a web site that ONLY the makers of the anime are supposed to be given credit to the pictures offered in image galleries.
Sure, I agree. Of course we should credit them. They are the ones who brought to us these wonderful characters that give us such overwhelming emotions. No question about that. They are the REAL owners of the pictures. I thank them for making my life colorful.
What I do not agree to is not crediting the webmasters who took these pictures for the public to enjoy online. Now, I can relate to some webmasters who flame other people (but I don't use such dire measures as flaming) for "stealing" their pictures.
I'll tell you a true story about some of these webmasters (me):
I'm only a student and I don't have much money. But when I do, I try to buy some anime merchandise. Mostly, I buy episodes and sometimes I buy mangas and other "scan-ables". Before I can buy a single anime product, I'll have to save for a week. Now, I finally got my anime. I've enjoyed them thouroughly. So, I want to share my love for anime to people by displaying them in my web sites.
What I do is, I spend countless hours rewinding and fast forwarding the episodes so that I could get the "perfect frame" to capture. Or, I would go to my friend's house a couple of blocks away to have some of my anime stuff scanned (I don't have a scanner). Next would be encoding into HTML...
To make the story short, getting these pictures is hard. All that work amounts to is a great portion of my life, eye sores, very muscular fingers, high electricity bill, and other expenses...
Then, some person (who had the great idea for a web site) sees my site filled with treasure, and takes everything I worked so hard for... To top it all off, that person didn't even give credit to little ol' me. That person just said those pictures are his/hers because he/she "worked so hard to find them"... I could just GROWL!!!
I'm afraid to say that this happens. This is gettting long and I'm sure you're dying to see the gallery. So I'll get to my point: give credit to where credit is due. You're free to take everything in this image gallery. We aren't asking for much. Just a simple link back would do.
We do not claim any rights to the animes. They are not ours. We are "sharing the wealth" and we want our efforts to be rewarded. Just give us some gratitude.
